Subcision, PRP & cellulite

Subcision is a minimally invasive technique used to remove cellulite in small bothersome areas. Leveraging his experience as an E.R. physician, Dr. Gentry uses a special needle to make cuts under the skin to address surface depression cellulite— while avoiding scarring. Dr. Gentry might also recommend PRP treatments based on your individual needs.

Shockwave cellulite treatments

ESWT uses mechanical waves of energy to treat problem areas. This option generally involves a series of twice weekly treatments. ESWT has been scientifically proven to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Historically, shockwave treatments have been used for treating musculoskeletal injuries and kidney stones. They have recently been adapted for the treatment of other conditions such as cellulite.

ESWT details

  • Does not require anesthesia
  • Virtually painless, no down-time
  • Twice-weekly, 4-8 week duration (*Specific treatments are based on individual needs and goals)

While no one completely understands what causes cellulite, we do know the following factors contribute:

  • Excessive fatty tissue
  • Hormonal factors (cellulite is rarely seen in men vs 90-100% of women)
  • Genetic factors
  • Natural aging of the skin

Dr. Gentry can perform a free consultation to determine if you are a good candidate. Dr. Gentry does not recommend cellulite treatments if you are currently undergoing chemotherapy for cancer or long term steroid treatments for autoimmune diseases or other chronic medical conditions.
